I've started making laundry soap. Its DIRT CHEAP! I figured out the cost of a 5 gallon bucket full of soap costs me about $2.50 to make. LOVE IT! Its also much easier to store a years supply of ingredients for the soap, rather than trying to buy and store that much commercial detergent. The process is easy-just dissolve Borax, washing soda, and Ivory soap in 6 Cups of boiling water. Pour that into a 5 gallon bucket, and fill the rest of the bucket up with hot water. Let it sit overnight- in the morning it will have gelled.
